About the Journal

The African Management Development Review (AMDR) is an inter-disciplinary double blind peer-reviewed and open access academic journal hosted by the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI). The journal provides a platform for high-quality research in policy, governance, leadership, management, and development issues relevant to Africa and other emerging economies. AMDR publishes original, evidence-based, analytically robust research papers with compelling promise to advance scholarship, theory, policy, practice, economic and social well-being.

AMDR accepts articles in the field of social sciences, applied sciences, economics, public policy and management drawn from a wide spectrum of thematic areas including sustainable development and climate action; digital transformation and artificial intelligence; governance, leadership, and organizational performance; trade, finance, and regional integration; competitive strategy and business innovation, social impact and inclusive development.
