Dr Chabala has been a practitioner of corporate strategy for over 25 years having learnt the craft at McKinsey & Company, the global Strategy Consultants.
Over that period, Dr Chabala has practised strategy as a consultant, an executive and from a governance perspective.
He has held executive management positions in Standard Bank South Africa, Old Mutual South Africa, Scottish Widows in Scotland and Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia.
He has also served on several Boards, including being Board Chairman of Zambia Railways Limited.
Dr Chabala has been adjunct faculty for ESAMI from 2018 and has taught Global Corporate Strategy and Innovation and New Business Ventures.
He owns and runs a consultancy called Romanzo Advisory.
Dr Chabala has attended numerous training programmes which include, Innovation Systems Leadership (SAIS), Debt Markets Development (AfDB), International Institute for Capital Markets Development (US SEC), Making Markets Work (HBS Executive Programme), Strategic Finance (WBS Executive Programme), Executive Leadership (LBS), and Mini MBA (McKinsey & Company).
He is a published author, a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society and a member of the Trinity College (Cambridge) Alumni Network.

- MSc in International Development, Trade Policy and Industrialisation from the University of Manchester (UK)
- BSc.Ed from the University of Zambia.
