Dr Sheila Mziray has strong hands-on facilitating and consulting skills with various local and international organizations. She has over 20 years of practical experience in facilitating human resource management, gender and development and advocacy programs at certificate, diploma and degree levels. Sheila has strong knowledge in design of training programs, community development and undertaking research.
She has competencies in development programs management, gender mainstreaming and analysis, carrying out participatory research activities, carrying out gender audit in organizations, managing and evaluating training programs, global value chain analysis, conducting training needs assessment, counselling, HIV/AIDS programming, writing proposals, organizing advocacy campaigns, communication and developing tools for human resource management activities.
Dr Sheila Mziray is currently working at St John’s University of Tanzania as Lecturer/Director Human Resource Management and Administration after retiring from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) where her final position was Director Management Training. She worked with World Vision Tanzania for nine years holding different leadership positions before joining ESAMI.
Dr Sheila Mziray holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (International Business), Master of Philosophy (Maastricht School of Management) and Master of Science, Bachelor of Science degrees (University of Dar es Salaam) and has undergone legal training.
The topic for her published doctoral research: Can Regulation Reduce the Resource Curse Risk? The Case Study of Gold Value Chain Actors in Tanzania.
