Statement of Need

The implementation of interventions in projects, programmes, in development world and organizations has not been informed by data; the purpose of this module is to expose participants to the tools that are relevant in the collection of data for evidence informed interventions in public and private sector arena.

This module will respond to the need of development practioners on the use of tools which can be used to design the M&E systems, collect, analyse and management data rigorously in organisations, projects, programmes, portifolios.

The course looks at M&E frameworks, Logical Framework Approach, Logic Models, Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation Tools and Frameworks, Participatory Learning and Actions, Beneficiary feedback, Economic, social, & environmental evaluations in M&E practice, standard environment analysis prompts used in M&E practice, Results Based Management as a tool for, M&E plans and systems, M&E Tools for quantitative and qualitative data collection, M&E tools used in Gender Mainstreaming, Outcome mapping as relevant in the practice of M&E, GIS Mapping and there relevance in the practice of M&E which will be 50% theory and 50% practical.

  • Integrate the GIS concept into the practice of M&E in projects, programmes, and organizations.
