
Procurement of World Bank Financed Projects
The World Bank’s New Procurement Framework (NPF) which came into effect from 1 July 2016, introduces significant changes to the procurement procedures applicable to projects financed by the Bank. This training program has been developed by the bank, to equip participants with knowledge and techniques for initiating and managing procurement under the bank’s New Procurement Framework. The workshop will be delivered by ESAMI and World Bank trainers.
This workshop targets senior, mid-level and other officials involved in implementation of projects funded directly or indirectly by the World Bank. Specifically, the program is structured to guide Accounting Officers, Procurement and Supply Chain Management Staff, Members Committees involved in procurement processing, Contract Implementation Teams, and User Department Staff involved in planning and managing procurement activities. The training will also be of significant benefit Project Accountants and Finance personnel supporting procurement processes in donor funded projects.
At the institutional level, this course aims at assisting National and County Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Public Sector Entities to increase their efficiency and cost-effectiveness in conducting, monitoring and reporting procurement under World Bank funded projects or loans or credits provided by international financing institutions. Participants will acquire the pre-requisite knowledge about international competitive procurement process and procedures.
