Statement of Need

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of Public sector development policies, programs, projects and operations are increasingly recognised as indispensable management functions. This has been driven by donors, governments and private sector organisations that seek to create value for their customers, achieve value for money, while learning from interventions.

The increased need for Monitoring and Evaluation in the public sector requires capacity building in the various skills, ranging from Program management, data analysis and the soft skills needed to learn from the whole arena of implemented interventions. Potential and current development practitioners need to demonstrate competence to track and evaluate intervention performance and use evidence to design impactful programs.

It is about the skills and knowledge required to ensure that Public sector development policies, programs, projects and operations are professionally monitored and evaluated to ascertain their efficiency, effectiveness, relevancy, coherence, impact and sustainability.
