Gender equality and women’s empowerment are fundamental human rights and key to sustainable development. Elections are a critical component of democratic governance, and ensuring the participation
of women as voters, candidates, and election officials is essential for promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. However, women continue to face significant barriers and challenges in the electoral process.
