Confronting Gender Based Violence in Workplaces
The phenomenon of gender-based violence is pervasive around the world and is deeply rooted in gender inequality and continues to be one of the most notable human rights violations within all societies. The elimination of such violence has been increasingly recognized as a priority for the international community.
Gender-based violence (GBV) is violence committed against a person because of his or her sex or gender. It is forcing another person to do something against his or her will through violence, coercion, threats, deception, cultural expectations, or economic means.
The purpose of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, policies, and practical tools required to prevent, identify, respond to, and eliminate gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace, while promoting safe, inclusive, and respectful work environments.
