Consultancy Skills development is recognized as a powerful professional service for solving practical problems in both the public and private sectors. The skills are also relevant to improving organizational performance. This module aims at sharpening consulting skills of the participants.
The skills targeted are those that will be useful to experts to carry out their tasks in whatever capacity. This could be as consultants, experts, academics, NGOs compatriots, public service officials, and private sector practitioners, as well as donors and those in senior positions.
The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the consultancy process, focusing specifically on the role of the Consultant as a change agent in the entire process. It is also geared towards helping organizations to improve their performance through the analysis of existing organizational problems and the development of plans for improvement and managing change.
Organizations may draw upon the services of management consultants for several reasons, including gaining both internal and external (and presumably objective) advice and access to the consultant’s specialized expertise in different disciplines. The module is both theoretical and practical including sharing of experiences and best practices.
