Managing Constituency Relations for New Legislatures

Statement of Need

As a new parliamentarian, building and maintaining strong relationships  with your constituents is essential to effectively representing their  interests and addressing their concerns. A course on managing  constituency relations can help new parliamentarians develop the skills  and knowledge needed to effectively engage with their constituents,  build support for their legislative agenda, and address the concerns and  complaints of their constituents.

Who Attends

New parliamentarians and their staff, as well as civil servants and  other government officials who are involved in constituency relations.  The course is also suitable for NGO representatives, academics, and  journalists who are interested in constituency relations and the role of  parliamentarians in representing their constituents.

How participants will benefit

At the end of the Programme, participants will be able to: 

* Understand the basics of constituency relations, including the role  of parliamentarians in representing their constituents 

* Develop effective communication strategies for engaging with  constituents, including community outreach and the use of social  media 

* Learn how to effectively address the concerns and complaints of  constituents, including crisis management and dispute resolution
