- Approaches and Processes, and Qualitative Research Methods.
Dr. Mwita has been a Part-time Lecturer/Adjunct Faculty of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Amref International University-AMIU, (2020-present);
Adjunct Faculty of Project Management and M&E in the Executive Master of Business Administration-Health (EMBA-Health) program at the United States International University (USIU)-Africa, (2016); Part-time Lecturer of Health Service Management (HSM) in the School of Public Health, University of Nairobi, (2018-2020); Have been a Research Supervisor and Mentor of the Master of Public Health (MPH) students at Schools of Public Health in Kenyatta University, Moi
University, Maseno University, and Amref International University-AMIU, (2013-present).
Have been an External Examiner of postgraduate thesis for Schools of Public Health in University of Nairobi, University of Kwazulu Natal- South Africa, and Kenyatta University.
Recently, Dr. Mwita worked as a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager for the USAID Mission Organizational Development Support (USAID-MODS) project, implemented by Dexis Consulting Group in Kenya. Previously, he worked for Amref Health Africa in different capacities:
Monitoring and Evaluation Corporate Director; Capacity Building Deputy Director/Training Technical Specialist; Regional Training Coordinator; Primary Health Care & Community Based Health Care (PHC/CBHC) Training Coordinator; Project Manager for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; CBHC Project Coordinator; and Program Sociologist/Community Trainer. Nzomo also worked as a
Training & Development Advisor for the Danish Association for International Cooperation (MS), based at the Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC) in Arusha-Tanzania, where he founded and developed the 4-week monitoring and evaluation (M&E) course in May 1999, which is currently delivered as a short course at MS-TCDC in Arusha-Tanzania, and at Amref International University (AMIU) in Nairobi.
Dr. Mwita has worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Consultant/Trainer for different agencies including the USAID Mechanism on Agile and Harmonized Assistance for Devolved Institutions (USAID-AHADI), implemented by the Centre for International Development of the State University of New York (SUNY) in Kenya; Kenya School of Government (KSG); College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, HIV Capacity Building Fellowship Program; Emory University Program in Kenya;
County Governments in Kenya-Machakos, Marsabit, Mombasa, Murang’a, Kiambu and Lamu, where he trained technical directors and heads of department on the County Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System (CIMES).
Dr. Mwita has also worked with communities at the village level and published books and papers in support of community-based health and development initiatives.
