Statement of Need

Decision makers at different levels in modern organizations are faced with challenges of using appropriate decision support systems. Most of decision makers are still using the old traditional way of thinking to design systems, products and services for their organization value chains. Practitioners in both public and private sectors should intentionally integrate systems thinking with design thinking to enhance the chances of creating the right designs. The essence of systems thinking is encapsulated in the concept of systemic wholeness, which is grasped by looking at the whole instead of the parts. With design thinking, problem solving process is robust and begins with understanding unmet customer needs. From that insight, emerges a process for innovation that encompasses concept development, applied creativity, prototyping, and experimentation. When design thinking approaches are applied to business, the success rate for innovation improves substantially. This course is designed to enhance ability to imagine or invent new thinking, generate new ideas by combining, changing, or reapplying existing ideas and help decision makers to design systems that can provide appropriate solutions to their organizational .

Who Attends

This is a multidisciplinary course that involves anyone responsible for driving innovation, growth and the customer experience (CX) and in decision making that includes functional and cross-functional teams as such ICT, Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Health, Education and Energy and Land Resource Planning.
