The course will give comprehensive overview of the oil and gas exploration and production industry from a historical, current and future perspective for non-technical and technical participants. The principles of exploration, development and production will be covered and complemented by what is happening in the industry and what the future holds.

The lifecycle of exploration, development, production will be covered and key industry players such as national oil companies, international oil companies, multinational companies and service providers identified. The major recent trends in the industry with regard to the various extraction methods and political decisions will be discussed. The participants will be able to analyze key aspects in exploration and production activities related to oil and gas to advise their organizations and government more effectively on key aspects related to oil and gas activities.

The principles of exploration, development and production will be covered and complemented by what is happening in the industry and what the future holds. The full lifecycle and value chain of exploration, development, production to product delivery will be covered.


Objectives:

At the end of the Programme, participants will be able to:-

  • Identify key aspects relating to Oil and Gas exploration and intermediate steps leading to project development.

  • Identify hydrocarbons industry segments and cut-off from vertically integrated oil and gas projects covering upstream, midstream and downstream activities.

  • Analyze key aspects in exploration and production activities related to oil and gas throughout Project and Industry Life Cycle;

  • Demonstrate Policy and administrative implications for setting ring fenced or vertically integrated oil and gas projects

  • Advise their organizations and government more effectively on key policy and administrative aspects related to exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
