Parliaments play important functions in any country. These include making laws, overseeing the executive arm of government, representing citizens and seeking redress to their grievances and deliberating through asking questions, presenting motions and making statements. For parliament to effectively perform all these functions, staff working with members of parliament must be knowledgeable and multi- skilled.

HOW PARTICIPANTS WILL BENEFIT

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Appreciate the rationale for the various parliamentary practices and procedures;
  • Apply hands on management techniques to improve individual effectiveness;
  • Describe approaches to enhance the working of parliament;
